We are a proprietary trading firm that develops and runs fully
automated algorithms to trade financial markets around the clock and
around the world.

Proprietary trading means that the firm's income is derived entirely
from trading stocks, bonds, options, futures, and other financial
instruments for the firm's own account. Our internally-developed
trading system software decides when and where to buy and sell, and
then places orders at exchanges around the world. We risk our own
capital competing with other firms to provide the best prices for
investors.

A trading system is governed by a set of rules that do not deviate
based on anything other than market action. Emotional bias is
eliminated because the systems operate within the parameters known
by the trader. The parameters can be trusted based on historical
analysis and real world market studies, so that the trader who is
familiar with the trading system and its operating characteristics
can have confidence in a pre-determined trading strategy.

Position - This is a unique opportunity to be part of a highly
skilled team building a mission-critical automated financial trading
applications and frameworks using the best technology and
development practices.  Responsibility will grow rapidly based on
demonstrated results. Senior and Junior positions are available.

Java skills/experience
- Core Java only, no web development
- Experience or interest in implementing mission-critical Java
  applications
- Understanding of complex, multithreaded systems
- Knowledge of or interest in agent based simulation, machine
  learning, evolutionary algorithms, and neural networks is a plus
  (but not necessary)
- We tend to work with Open Source technologies

- Tools: Eclipse, Ant
- Networking: TCP/IP
- Databases: MySQL experience is a plus (but not necessary)

Education
- Bachelor degree in computer science, other technical degree, or
  equivalent experience required
