Not true.  T-Mobile also runs GSM, and while they are not as technically 
advanced as AT&T (don't have full 3G yet, crappier selection of phones), I've 
had no problem with their service having been a customer of theirs since 
2003.  And because it's GSM, I get around the crappy phone selection by 
buying my own damned phone and sticking my SIM card in it, as it should be.  
You can't do that with CDMA, which is why I refuse to use a CDMA carrier 
(until one of them starts offering SIM-or-similar phone swapping at the 
convenience level of GSM).

I will not dispute the evilness of AT&T. :-)
