i just installed XUbuntu 7.10 on an HP OminBook 500 for my bro &
sis-in-law to use as a web/mail machine.  it seems to work well for
that purpose.  i'm not sure how much RAM you have, but it could be
used for basic network services (DHCP, DNS, etc.)
