I just tried your suggestion with my site.  The site is mostly static 
but uses Drupal engine to manage the content.

wget "mirrored" the site, created dirs for the Drupal "nodes" etc.
The "mirrored" results looks nowhere close to the way it does under 
Drupal.  Also, the graphics are missing.

I have encountered similar experience with sites managed by wiki 
engines.
