You could install Swat, the web based admin tool for samba, on each machine and configure the shares there if you don't want to edit the file.  Or you could try Webmin with the Samba module which gives you more modules to control your various boxes with.

I have a handfull of machines here running Ubuntu, Debian and Win2krap. 
They are connect through a router.  I have Samba on all of them except 
for the obvious one.  When I go to Nautilus network I see a picture of a 
mini tower with the name of each machine under each one.  When I click 
on the linux machines all I get is "print$", for the Win machine I get a 
list of the hard drives.  I know I should be able to access hard drives 
and files through Samba.  What do I do from here?
