I've always prefered nVidia over ATI for Linux.  I have much better luck with 

nVidia then ATI when I want to use 3D (games).  For basic 2D, either one will 

work without much issues.

Too right, I am in the middle of trying to get my radeon 9600xt to dual

screen (with one "bigdesktop") without crashing out on me.<br>

Even with proprietary drivers it still is a run around.<br>

Anyone out there had good experiences with one of these ?<br>
